4, 5, 6 Times Table Target Boards

times table target boards

These represent a simple but fun way for children to record their developing skills with the times tables.

The maths activity involves children working together to ask each other multiplication questions based on a particular times table they have been learning (in this case, 4x, 5x and/or 6x tables). The children 'win' counters for each correct answer. Importantly, the more difficult the multiplication fact, the more points they win!

The Target Boards are designed to be used as a focus for the children's multiplication practice. The children point to questions, or covering them with counters.

The attached file* contains three times table boards, one blank board and an outline of the activity for the children. Like all our files, this is a high quality pdf. Here's a thumbnail screenshot of the four pages:

Other Times Table Target Boards are available for the 7,8 and 9 times tables.

I really like this idea.

I really like this idea. Children always need extra practice to recall multiplication facts and this is a fresh idea to do that.

Thanks for this. My ideas for making times tables exciting were running out. I have also made another interactive version of this where I have used a magnetic dartboard where the children can actually throw darts at the target board. They seem to like this. Thanks for the inspiration:)
