Flip Flops Again
Following a couple of requests I have repackaged the original maths starter activity (the original Flip Flop design) in two ways:
- a larger, A3 format, so you can use the counting activities with larger groups of children.
- a set of mini Flip Flops, each counting grid is 8.5cm square.
The smaller sized Flip Flops are the result of a teacher telling me she has had great results letting her children use them to:
- experiment with number bonds for themselves
- challenge themselves by folding the sheet on a table - "I can see 6 faces, how many are hidden?"
- challenge each other - "I am showing you 2 faces, how many are on my side"
- respond to questions by folding the Flip Flop to show specific quantities
For details of counting activities and how to use/fold them, see the original Flip Flop post.
