Over on the Mathsticks Resource website I’ve been inundated with great comments and feedback. So thank you so much for that. I thought I should share a few comments here:
When my son asked me to play boxes I quickly referred to the mathsticks twist in order to make it a fun homework activity. As I didn’t have ink I quickly made up my own.It was a huge success and we both loved the anticipation of not knowing who had won until we’d calculated the total no of points. Also we soon started planning strategically so that boxes we had to give away had the least value Thankyou again for brightening an otherwise dull and wet afternoon !
Thanks so much, every time I come back to this site [Mathsticks] I smile. You provide such simple and effective games and also presented so clearly. You have been a real support to our school in developing numeracy homework packs for our children and it is making such a difference.
My first time using a resource from this site [Mathsticks]. It was great – the kids loved it. I used it with a bright set of Y3′s. This site is now in my favourites list. Thank you.
Fantastic resource [Domino Addition]. Originally used this resource for a couple of children with SEN, but proved so popular that now the whole class use it. Another great success.
I just happened across your site while looking for games [Maths Games] to make for my Yr1/2 composite class. The games are so easy to explain that my class can play them independently while I work with others. Thank you so much for sharing such great resources.
Another brilliantly simple idea [2-digit window frames]. I have just browsed through your place value resources with my blank maths plan open and have been able to fill in nearly all the boxes with exciting ideas and games that the children are going to love! Thank you again and please keep adding new resources.
Great resource [number track], I am about to commence teaching a small group of students who require that extra bit of “fun” in their maths lessons. This game will be added to my file immediately.
Very many thanks to one and all… and to all the other hundreds of commenters who posted feedback over the last few months. Thank you.
