Blog
Our new Blog is up and running – yes, this is it. But even with this in place we aren’t standing still, we have plans for a major overhaul of the Blog over Easter, and we are actively looking for contributors to help with this. Find out more: Mathsticks Needs You!
Resources
We have added a number of maths games and teaching resources, here is a small selection of our most recent additions:
Maths Resources for Early Years / Key Stage 1
Coin Recognition Bingo - coins and stamps get together in this really attractive resource. We thought, “why should maths resources always be simple grey boxes? Let’s put a little life, colour and energy into them“, take a look at what we did with that idea!
Circle Bonds – a bit of lateral thinking means we can take a ’round’ look at cuisenaire rod. A useful and versatile resource that may support specific children with a range of early calculation skills.
Donkey – a Number Bond Game – an adaptation of a familiar card game, we’ve replaced the ‘Donkey’ (or the ‘Old Maid’, if you prefer) with a number… can your children identify it while they are playing the game?
Maths Resources for Key Stage 2
Multiples Game – nice and straightforward, this one does just what it says; plenty of practice for multiplication skills… but everyone thinks they are ‘just playing a game’!
8 Simple Number Lines – a generous, versatile collection of simple number lines. Take a look at them, see how they can help help you to develop teaching and learning with your children.
Make 50 – we continued our highly popular “Make it” resources, by adding number bonds to 50… this one will make everyone think.
